Concern about Gnome 3.0
The site LWN.net reports on the sentiments found in the mailing list gnome concluded after his recent conference GUADEC. Apparently, some members of their community clearly felt that the development of Gnome has slowed, that the project lacks vision and that same gnome is threatened with losing their relevance to users (!). Plans for Gnome 3.0 now seem to be detained, pending major decisions for the future.

Those who do have clear they want to go where developers are GKT +, which are determined to change the ABI (Application Binary Interface) GTK + 3.0 breaking its compatibility with older versions.
But who disagrees with GTK + is Miguel de Icaza, who is concerned with the applications vendors thirds left behind, and wants changes in GTK + 3.0 progressively introduced as they require more features and without breaking the ABI.
However, developers of GTK + are determined to make this change has. But eventually, there is no need for gnome make a major upgrade, as would be 3.0, was updated just because one of its bookstores.
For the latter reason, some say that Gnome 3.0 is "a terrible idea."
