Theora 1.0, the alternative to DivX

Who does not know today what is and what they are DivX movies / series / videos in DivX? perhaps by being the first format that provided a compression rate much more favorable, by that time the best quality codec / size MPEG-2 has been imposed in the encoding of multimedia files and for having occurred. But to this day has come Theora to version 1.0, and is a great alternative to it.
Xiph.org Foundation today announced the departure of the public version 1.0 of its video codec Theora with the promise that a commendable quality along with a reduced consumption of CPU utilization and perhaps the most important point is that it requires no No license to use whatever device or software you use.
Theora is being distributed under the BSD license and Xiph.org aims to become a standard for HTML 5. Xiph.org already launched in their day-free audio format OGG, also free, and with a rate of compression / audio quality far superior to the almighty MP3.
To get an idea of the efficiency of Theora in terms of consumption of resources, the codec is able to function fully in a draft of the OLPC XO computer, a machine of very limited resources: CPU 433 MHz AMD Geode LX-700 and integrated graphics.
Xiph.org is working on an encoder for the new format and is expected to be available with version 1.1 of the codec. Finally, a simple question: does think that Theora dominated the attention of the market or succeed with the opposite OGG to MP3 format?
