Waiving the Secretary of Debian Project
Manoj Srivastava, a former member of the community of Debian, resigned his post as Secretary of the Project and is considering completely abandon that community. Srivastava was who sent the message asking for the vote on the status of the firmware in the next Debian 5.0 "Lenny" this week and apparently his decision is due to the overwhelming criticism destructive on the 7 options included in the vote.
In his message of resignation Srivastava concluded that:
"I have been made clear that the project does not trust me, and many felt that I was the epitome of what lousy for years, manipulating votes at my convenience. That hurts. Also I read what he says the world. The amount of Vitriol out there makes it impossible for me to participate in any effort to recover from this mess. "
At least two other old developer of the project, Martin Krafft and Antti-Juhani Kaijanaho, said that if called for the resignation of Srivastava, they too will continue.
