GNOME 2.24.2 Available
GNOME is an easy-to-use desktop environment for Linux and other UNIX systems. It combines a flexible, graphically demanding work environment with the technical advantages of a UNIX system. GNOME is almost entirely localized, meaning that GNOME even without English skills can use it.
Released version 2.24.2 GNOME desktop environment.
It contains many important amendments errors directly affecting members. Among them we can find, among others removed memory leak in gdm or movement against the current line in gedit. Improved stability of the nautilus file manager and implemented a hotfix for Firefox and OpenOffice.org. Introduced updates documentation and translation.
Next stable version of GNOME will wear number 2.24.3 and will be delivered on 14 January 2009. In the meantime, the GNOME community is working on the unstable branch, which will be released as 2.26 in March 2009.
