KNOPPIX 6.2 is popular Linux distribution contained many GNU / Linux programs, automatically detects the hardware supports multiple video and sound cards, SCSI, USB and many other peripherals. KNOPPIX 6.2 can be used as a desktop operating system or server platform.

KNOPPIX 6.2 is distributing "live" best known and one of the first, born in 2003 and also based on the popular Debian.

Since 2005 there are two editions available, a LiveDVD with a selection of programs, which we present, which fits on a CD and that until recently seemed discontinued.

The KDE desktop has been replaced by LXDE, lighter. It has also reduced the number of packages available, but has the basic tools such as Pidgin, Firefox, Gimp and Synaptic package manager.

But the two main innovations is the new starting system, faster than earlier versions, and Adriane, a text mode menu voice.
