Wine 1.1.7: Run Windows applications without having them installed

Wine 1.1.7 gives us welcome the world of Microsoft Windows, not simply because it emulates its code but because it is a genuine implementation of the Windows API libraries. But the difference in the technique of "encapsulation", this is translating into 100% all the code for Windows.
For the first time, we can run applications running on the popular operating system from Redmond, aka Microsoft Windows, UNIX machines, without having even a Windows installation. Although 100% free source code for Windows, can optionally use native Windows DLL, if they are available.
Wine includes a development kit called internal Winelib with which we can carry the UNIX code to Windows, allowing the execution of Windows without changing libraries in UNIX machines, including Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris.
What's new in this release:
Improved device management for DOS drives.
Many Richedit fixes.
Various installer fixes, particularly for IE 7.
First steps of Direct3D 10 implementation.
Various bug fixes.
