History of a failed Linux distribution - Lindows/Linspire
These videos from Linspire are pretty funny. These guys started out with bold claims of taking the Windows monopoly on directly, but ended up the laughingstock of a community and ultimately a miserable failure. Its sad really, as despite their initial poor technical decisions, they also had some really neat tricks and a fairly solid UI for the time. Unfortunately, their early leader (Michael Robertson) became disinterested in the project, and it began to suffer from entropy and a severe lack of leadership. That has all culminated in the current complete lack of development and community that we see with the product today.Anyway, the videos are sort of worth watching just for their humour value:Lindows RockRun Linspire (name was changed to Linspire as they wimped out in their lawsuit with MS)Final release (5-0 set to Hawaii 5-0)
