Google Chrome Operating System
(Is the beginning of a new era?) Google finally announced on its official blog Google Chrome their new Operating System project as "a natural extension of Google Chrome" and "our attempt to re-think how they should be operating systems (! ).
Basically, this is an operating system that will be released as Open Source this year based on Linux and designed (at least initially) to netbooks x86 and ARM architecture. Google Chrome OS include its own windowing system and user interface minina because "most of the user experience will take place on the web" using the Google Chrome browser, of course.
The first devices were sold by Google Chrome OS reach consumers in the second half of 2010, probably from the hand of the first manufacturers to announce their support for the new Google project, including: Acer, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard , Lenovo, Toshiba and Texas Instruments.
Google Chrome not be related to OS Android, Google's operating system for mobile phones, and it would be indeed a totally new project, designed to run in the range of hardware from netbooks to desktop PCs.
