Google Code now accepts MPL licenses and EPL
Google reversed its earlier decision to ban the use of the Mozilla Public License (MPL) for projects hosted on your site Google Code. The reason is a change in the attitude of Google regarding the licensing of open source software, as explained Chris Dibona, team leader of the Open Source company, in his blog: Google before trying to discourage the proliferation of licenses for software open source, to reduce potential legal costs and problems of using a draft code in another with a different license.
But the success of projects Mozilla and Eclipse also made Google now considers that it is better not to block the development of these two communities. Thus, the Eclipse Public License (EPL) also joined the MPL:
"We decided that after almost 2 years of operation, it was time to add the EPL and serve these open source developers," said DiBona.
