Wiz: portable console Open Source
The Korean company GPH introduced her Wiz, a new portable game console based on its own Linux distribution, GP2X, and an ARM9 processor of 533 MHz, 64 MB RAM, 1 Gb NAND flash memory, a slot for an SD card and a USB 2.0. The small console includes a 320x240 screen (QVGA) and a Lithium-Ion battery that promises up to 5 hours of fun.
But perhaps most attractive of the Wiz, in addition to the games written especially for her by independent developers, their ability to run at least 130 emulators for other consoles like the classic Atari 2600, NES, Super NES, Sega Genesis, N64 and Neo Geo, also obviously for all its games.
The console also includes its own Flash Player 7.0, which gives the possibility to run even more games, plus a collection of software itself as a photo viewer, a reader e-books, a planner, a voice recorder, a media player and more.
Wiz is expected to begin distribution in mid-October of this year at a tentative price of S $ 170.
